Happy Merdeka!
Hello.
Happy Merdeka, Malaysia!! Today is the day we turn 50.
What an achievement made.
And all this thanks to the efforts of the one and only Tunku Abdul Rahman, our 1st ever prime minister and his entourage.
Forget the racial riot, bribery, and countless amount of pirated Cds.
Malaysia is known for its bribery and illegal pirated Cd shops.
Today we truly celebrate what begin Malaysian is all about. Yes, lepaking, enjoying meals with family and friends and yeah, just taking it easy. Well, it IS a public holiday.
Yup in this land of multiple races, where the infamous teh tarik, nasi lemak and roti prata originated, there's no other joy than experiencing holidays.
There's a reason why Malaysia is one of the countries
that has the most amount of holidays in a year.

Ah, the classic teh tarik done and made by a typical mamak together with roti prata. =)
Also, reflecting on the past, Malaysia surely has changed alot. From being a rural country invaded by the Portuguese, British and Japanese,
to now an independent country known for its diverse cultures and
occasional beautiful sights attracting tourists from all over the world.

From the rural streets of 1960 to the urban nightlife of 2007
Well, there are tons of stuff to be proud about of Malaysia.
First there's the Menara Kuala Lumpur and the Petronas Twin Towers. These buildings tower over the city of Kuala Lumpur making it such a huge tourist attraction. FYI, the twin towers were once the tallest building in the world.
Besides that, there's the Genting resort and theme park, Malaysia's only LEGAL casino.
And not to mention the beautiful beaches of Langakawi, Redang, Tioman and a lot more.

A beautiful sunset taken of the cost of Terrenganu and a shot of the beach of Langkawi
And in sports, some athletes have made us proud in the international stage. World No.1, Nicole Davis is on top of her game in women's squash. And not forgetting Lee Chong Wei, who is the world's No. 3 badminton player.
Besides the athletes, Malaysia has also hosted many sporting events,
such as the 98 Commonwealth Games.
And of course, Sepang where countless motor racing events are held.
So I know each citizen is proud of their own country and I for one am no different.
Yeah, so I can say that I'm proud to be a Malaysian.
Goodbye.
